If you are familiar with “Lord of the Rings,” you might remember Gollum.  He’s the little guy who runs around naked with the hobbits.  Though my son really is a cutie (duh, I’m his Mom), he loves to run around the house naked and I can’t help but think he looks a little bit like [...]

My daughter is almost 9 months old.  She doesn’t wear shoes much.  Yet, somehow, this precious little angel gets stinky feet!  I guess just spending time nestled in her footy-jammies allows the stinky bunnies to hang on to her feet.  I probably wouldn’t even notice the stinky feet if I didn’t obsess with kissing her little toes!  Is [...]

Dream Big

We were watching cartoons today and Dora had a little piece about what she was going to be when she grew up. I asked my son what he wanted to be when he grew up… “Chuck E. Cheese” is what he said.  Dream big. I then asked him the same question again and he said, [...]

We drive past a cemetery every time we drive to Grandma & Papa’s house.  Today, my 2 year old son was commenting on the pretty flowers.  I wasn’t sure what or if I should say anything about what a cemetery is, but I decided to teach him the new word anyway… who couldn’t use a larger vocabulary [...]

To help my son sleep, I usually play a cd… something like Enya or another soothing type music.  For the past week or so, he has been sleeping to a Gregorian chant cd which is very beautiful.  Here’s the potential dilemma… will this condition him to sleep in church!?!  Share and Enjoy:

Most cartoons, including the ones we grew up with include the classics.  I can’t hear Beethoven’s 5th without thinking of some Looney Toons cartoons. I love that we are exposed to masterpieces like that through playful media, but I am thrilled when I get to hear some different “classics” in kids’ shows. If you haven’t [...]

Bad for the ego

My 2 year old son and I were looking at pictures the other day.  I was trying to explain that his baby sister was once in my tummy and showed him one of my full term “belly pictures.”  Granted, my head/face wasn’t in the picture, but it didn’t make it hurt any less when he pointed [...]

Pony Potty

Has anyone else tried potty training by having the kiddo sit on the big potty facing the back/tank? We’re still working on this, but my son enjoys riding the pony potty.  Share and Enjoy:

Update:  I found this site that had some fun ideas: http://www.mommysavers.com/frugal-decorating/decorating-kids-rooms-budget.shtml   Original Blog from July: Decorating a nursery is one of the fun parts of having a new baby.  For our little girl, we had a great time painting her room pink and green and it looks precious!!!  My son’s room, however, needs some work.  [...]

More Fun with Words

I mentioned how my son’s vocabulary is in the building years, right? Here are some more words that he has pulled into his mind to make sense of things.  Pointing to a cute little spiky critter in a book, he said “Look!  Pineapple!”  Of course, he knew the animal had the word “pine” in it… [...]
