McDonald’s Mayhem
Feb 8th, 2010 by mom
I love being a stay at home mom and if it were terrible, I certainly wouldn’t continue to do it. That being said, I don’t think most people realize how stressful kids all day can be.
To make things crazier, my girlfriend and I both took all four of our kids ranging in age from 1-5 years old to the McDonald’s Playland. Though my daughter, aged 2, didn’t throw up in the restaurant like she did the last time we went, she did end up somehow peeing all over her underpants and unexpectedly the bathroom floor while we were there.
After trying to get the kids to eat some food before going to the play area, we shuffled through the other diners, arms full of juice drinks and Happy Meals, somewhat unsuccessfully herding the walking children around. Because of the various ages, some of our kids were crazy-fast, others tried to explore with the bigger kids. In the end, it just made our heads spin trying to keep track of everyone. In the mayhem, we marveled at how families attempt to go to Disney World. We were struggling with a lunch at McDonald’s!
The last hurdle was trying to convince all four kids to leave. It took a lot of coaxing and yelling to get everyone down. “Wrangling” comes to mind when I think about trying to get everyone’s shoes and coats on. We finally got in our cars and drove our separate ways… However, we had to have that one final call to each other patting each other on the back for working so hard at the toughest job around!
