Yes. You drink the cheap vodka and then who the hell cares about cleaning the house?
Why? Is it more green? I think I would not like the smell BUT I guess if you get bored, you could always take a couple of swigs and make a party out of it!
You guys are funny! I think you’re right about not caring after having a few drinks!
I bought a bottle of vodka and tried this out. There wasn’t a scent (I didn’t use a FLAVORED vodka!) and I think it worked pretty well. The lack of smell was actually one of the best parts of cleaning with it. Didn’t have the usual overwhelming smells of typical cleaners. I think it was good for the areas that are shiny. It dries quickly so you don’t have to buff it dry. I think it would be good for things like light switches and door knobs because of the alcohol-sterilizing factor. Kills those germs! Draw back: cost. I bought a bottle for about $7 and found I used a lot of it… much more than a typical spray bottle of 409 or similar spray. I’ll try it again, but can’t say that it works any better than typical cleaners.
Hi Lisa – My cousin used to date a hollywood costume designer. They used 50% Vodka and 50% water in a spray bottle to spray down the costumes after each shoot – can’t just throw them in the wash day after day and expect them to look the same 3 months later. She said it’s a very effective odor killer, but I’ve never tried it myself. Elle
