Technical Difficulties and Other Breakdowns

We are a technical society and I’m addicted. If I lose cable, I’m lost. No tv and no internet?!?! Oh no! Yesterday, my phone bit the dust. NO PHONE? What? I cleaned my microwave yesterday and while the little turntable was in the dishwasher, I was jonesin’ for some hot tea. What? No tea? I actually had to pull out the TEA KETTLE! Really. Who still has a tea kettle? My car battery also recently went into retirement after having a few episodes requiring resuscitation (jump x3). Worst part of the car problem was that I didn’t realize that the car wasn’t starting until after the kiddos (x2) were happily strapped in their car seats. Ugh.
Here’s another technical issue I’ve recently run into… Skype. Have you tried Skyping? It basically is at-home video conferencing. It’s great for long distance relatives and friends because it allows the kids to see their family and the family can see how your kids are growing, but it has thrown a new issue into communication. They can SEE you and your house, too! That means your unkept hair, your lack of make-up, your messy room, and even that breathe right nose strip you’re wearing are going to be seen! Oh the pressures of technology!
