It’s Always a Good Time to Save Energy
Apr 1st, 2008 by mom
Earth Day is April 22. We are trying to save energy/water/$$$ so I’ve been doing some research and will blog some ideas throughout the month to let you know what we are doing.
Here’s the first idea: I have stopped using warm/hot water in my wash. Though I like to use hot water on my white bedsheets, I can manage without it. Ninety percent of the energy your washer uses goes toward heating water.
Here are some other things we’re doing: we are slowly replacing our appliances with newer and more energy efficient models, we are unplugging unnecessary small appliances when not in use (extra alarm clocks, VCR’s, etc.), we’re trying to reuse items when possible (shampoo bottles become bath toys).
Save the Cheerleader, oops, I mean Save the Energy, Save the World.

Good for you, it’s hard to change things when your used to things the same way. Changing light bulbs is such a simple thing to do and same with washing clothes. I love being able to hang my clothes out to dry (no ironing needed) until monsoon season hits. That’s the only time of year that I use a dryer. Keep up the great work!!
