33 years ago today, my Mom & Dad welcomed a little bundle of joy into the world… me. 

After becoming a parent, I realize that the birthday is about the kid, but in many ways it is about the parents, too.  My son has celebrated 3 birthdays so far and at each milestone, I can’t help but think about the day he was born and all the changes that have taken place since that special day.

I’m happy for him and enjoy watching him celebrate the birthday, but as his parent, I realize how much it is a celebration for me and my husband, too.

So, as I celebrate my birthday today, I hope that my parents (and all parents) still celebrate their parenthood and the specialness of bringing a new person into the world.
