Virtual Travel

I don’t plan on taking many trips for the next couple of years because of the kid factor. To see more of the world and have a virtual vacation, I have found some of these websites for enjoyment…
Warning: To people who take real vacations this will be totally lame.
Google maps: by using the hybrid option, you can see street names and satellite pictures of just about anywhere. I’ve used it to reminisce about he places we went to before kids. Here is a link to where we stayed last year at Hilton Head Island, SC.
Cruise Webcams: Here is a webcam mounted on one of NCL’s ships. You can see off the front end of many cruise ships and check out the exotic ports where they are docked.
You can also enjoy other people’s vacation by reading blogs, looking at pictures via Flickr.com . Just search under some of the places or things you would like to see. You’d be surprised on what you can see for free.
Bon voyage!
