Here are my unsolicited opinions on my favorite baby items:
The links are examples, not necessarily the exact item I used.

Best/Most Used Items:

Travel System (stroller and infant carseat/carrier combo)

Boppy (great for helping to feed/hold baby… later for propping baby in semi-upright or belly position… liked having the removable/washable cover)

Swing (we borrowed my niece’s travel swing… great for […]

Did you know that at our McDonald’s, it is actually $.05 cheaper to get a DOUBLE cheeseburger than a regular cheeseburger?  This is why American’s are fat!
(And yes, I did get the double cheeseburger!  Call me thrifty!  )

Lazy Mom Needs a License

As you know, I was excited to finally get my double stroller so I could get out with the kids.  On nice days, I like getting out and getting some exercise by pushing them around - and believe me, pushing the double stroller around provides plenty of resistance to get a decent workout.  I think […]

Memorial Day

Most traditions evolve over time; generations slightly change how things are celebrated.  Change is good and gives people a chance to express their own ideas, however it is still important to know the history…
Here is what Wikipedia (cliffs notes for everything!) says about Memorial Day:
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday that is observed […]

A couple of years ago we bought a bagless vacuum.  I have to say, once you go bagless, you never go back!  It is very rewarding to actually see how much lint, etc. you have cleaned up after vacuuming just one room.  (Yes, I get a weird high from having a clean house.)
Even though we […]

To keep my son busy and to feed his creative side, we had a couple of fun activities today.
Coloring:
Though crayons travel easy and are less likely to make a huge mess (I’m ignoring the crayon marks on the car window, all over the high chair tray, and I won’t name names of restaurants around town […]

I guess one way to be a stay at home mom is to wait until you retire to have kids.  I was both intrigued and amazed by this story today:
A 60-year-old New Jersey woman gave birth to two healthy baby boys yesterday, becoming the oldest woman to give birth to twins in the U.S.  The babies […]

Out! Out! Darn Spot!

I had my carpets cleaned today by Stanley Steemer.  They worked quickly, but now I’m stranded in a room without carpet to keep my socks dry.  (If you’ve ever had your carpets cleaned, you know what I’m talking about!)
The man who cleaned the carpet told me something that I never knew.  When we moved […]

Laundry Questions

Sorry for the mundane title, but laundry is a pretty mundane activity and one that we all have to deal with.
As I was tackling the mountain of clothing and bed sheets that I was washing today, I wrestled with these questions:

Why/how do my washer and dryer get so dirty when their whole purpose is to […]

I’ve always been a bit of a feminist and have fought stereotypical gender roles, but over time, I’m finding that maybe men and women are better at different things.
Take for example power tools.  Yesterday I thought I would have my husband show me how to use the hedge trimmer.  I’m home now, so I can […]
