If you don’t have a portable DVD player*, get one!  We take occasional 3 hour trips to see family, so it seemed like a good investment at the time.  We figured we would use it to entertain our son in the car. 

Well, we do use it on trips, but it has also been great to have it at home.  If there is a show I want to watch and my son wants to watch something, too, we basically have 2 TV’s in one room.  We don’t do that often, but the portability is priceless.

Best Buy has the machines available starting at less than $70, but you can find them just about anywhere. 

*This falls into the category of “I wish they had this when I was a kid!”
