Living the Suave Commercial
May 31st, 2007 by mom
I don’t use a lot of Suave products currently, but I love, love, love their commercial with the cycle of a woman’s life (engaged, married, pregnant, kid, kid, chaos, etc.). It hit the nail on the head for portraying how your priorities change when you have kids. I hate to say I’m too busy to get “gussied” up; I could make the time if I tried. The reality is, my kids don’t care what I look like and infact, I think my son likes my glasses!
I wear comfortable clothes every day (one major perk of not having a professional job!), but I looked in the mirror the other day and realized I looked a little too much like the mom on the “For Better of For Worse” comic strip! Reality check: If I don’t try a little from time to time, I might just start believing that this is what I should look like! Yikes!
Like the Suave commercial says, “89% of women say they have let themselves go; 100% of them can get themselves back.” Guess it is time to put on some make-up!
Note: I asked my husband if he thought I was sexy (in my mommy uniform - warm-ups, pony tail) and he said yes. Either I’m really blessed to have such a loving husband, or maybe my husband needs to get some glasses, too! :) Love you, honey!!!

These blogs are hilarious! I finally got the time to read them & I totally enjoy it! You really know how to make me laugh. I think you should think about writing a book!!!! Seriously, that could be your other “job,” if you really feel that you need another one. By the way, I really liked the “Monkey-see, monkey-doo.” Great stuff!!!

I love this spot too! My husband cut it.
I like this commercial too. And while my clothes may be a little plain and I don’t always wear make up I do {try} to pay attention to my skin care regiment. When the kids are out of the house or at least older I can wear a little make up & buy new clothes easy enough. By the way, did you notice that when she was ‘gussied’ up again she was pregnant again? Maybe there’s something to be said for that frumpiness after all.
