Is there a TARGET on my son’s head?
May 29th, 2007 by mom
My son is 2. I know, 2 year olds are mischievous little creatures. They love to explore and try new things. In a way, it is a very noble way to live: no fear, full speed ahead. ![]()
As a mother, however, it is terrifying!!! Since the whole catbite-stitches fiasco a few weeks ago, I swear his pretty little head has a giant target on it screaming “HIT ME!”
He ran into a barstool over the weekend leaving a golf ball size bump on his forhead. Today he was playing with stickers on our bed and got too close to the edge and BAM! head first off the bed. Ouch!
I feel terrible when he gets hurt. I feel guilty. Is he just prone to accidents (with summer here, his knees are already showing the season’s best scratches from falling down) or is it a phase? Or, God forbid, am I just a terrible mother for allowing my baby to get hurt? I am pulling for it being a phase. In the meantime, I am working on a contraption that equates to wrapping couch cushions around his body and making the little guy wear 3 stocking caps to give his head some cushion!
