I put the “stay” in stay at home mom…

Some moms are good about taking their kids everywhere. Good for them. If they can handle the extra work and the unpredictable situations that occur, I say bravo.
I realize that while I do try to take my kids out and about, there are a lot of places that I will be avoiding until the kids are older. Here’s why: I have a 2 year old and a newborn. Neither of them are at a good age for predictable behavior (the 2 year old and I are learning what “no” means and the baby loves to poop at the most opportune times!).
If I can’t control my kids, then at least I want to stay in an environment that I can control. I don’t want to be some place that if my son wants to start running, I’ll lose him in the aisle (happens way too often!), or if my
daughter gets hungry I don’t want to have to try and find a rock to climb under for some privacy. Instead, I’ll let my son be his wild-man self in our home and feed my daughter comfortably on our couch.
I realize that we’ll have to get out some time, but for now we’ll just enjoy our little piece of (chaotic) heaven at home. *Note: the picture of the hermit crab represents me (notice the contented look on her face!)

Now that my older two are in public school I am home with a 3 year old and 1 one year old. Most of my errands are drive thru banking, drive thru prescription picking up, and drive thru mail the letters. It is so hard to get “out there” with them. Hibernating with you!!
