Laundry Questions
May 23rd, 2007 by mom
Sorry for the mundane title, but laundry is a pretty mundane activity and one that we all have to deal with.
As I was tackling the mountain of clothing and bed sheets that I was washing today, I wrestled with these questions:
- Why/how do my washer and dryer get so dirty when their whole purpose is to clean? Today I had to wipe away at the crud that was once the lovely smelling Downy that had built up under the fabric softener dispenser in my washing machine. If I didn’t know of its once pleasant existence, there is no way I would have touched the brown goo.
- Why don’t manufacturers sell the dryers with a little hand-vac to clean up the lint that gets all over the place when I clean the lint trap? It isn’t often that I remember to take a vacuum to the laundry room, but it could sure use it.
- If things like Spray n’ Wash work so well, why don’t they make a whole laundry detergent with that formula? It would save me the trouble of hunting down the poopy spots (by way of diaper blowouts) on my kids’ pjs!
Ah, the things we get to think about!!!

I keep clorox wipes above my washer/dryer and use them to wipe down all the lint that collects from cleaning out the trap.
Ahh, the joys of apartment living. That lovely task is relegated to the mainenance man!
