Shrek the Third is our First
May 20th, 2007 by mom
We’ve had many firsts with our 2 year old son: first steps, first words, first trip to the beach. Yesterday was another first for him. We took him to see his first movie, “Shrek the Third,” at the movie theatre.
As we prepared for the movie, I had serious second-thoughts about going. I told my husband we were jumping the gun by taking a 2.5 year old to a movie. I started planning on leaving the movie early (”We’ll sit on the aisle in the back so we don’t disturb anyone on our way out…”).
I was so pleasantly surprised that I was wrong about the experience. With the aid of a booster seat provided by the theatre, and some popcorn, Twizzlers, and Sierra Mist, we made it through the entire movie! It was a special showing at 10:00 a.m. so I think that probably helped, too (not naptime, lunch time, etc.).
Though he is probably too young to be able to remember this movie, we’ll write it down in his baby book along side the other firsts.
Note: The movie was good. ![]()
