Disney Video on Demand

I don’t know what I’d do without our Video on Demand (VOD) service from our cable provider. I know it sounds awful, especially after the report I showed from the Today Show, but it works wonders for getting my 2 year-old to sit in one place for more than 30 seconds.
We’ve seen all the episodes of “Dora” and “Go, Diego, Go” this month, so I was happy to hear that later this month Disney will debut an interactive video-on-demand channel. Unfortnately the channel will start by highlighting their theme parks and travel businesses, but any glimpse of Mickey will grab my son’s attention.
Reports say the new channel will broadcast VOD content on the Disney theme parks and will start with Time Warner cable service. If you decide you (or your son who amazingly has figured out the TV remote at the age of 2) can’t wait to go to Disney, Cablevision subscribers will be able to use their remote to request a call from a Disney travel representative.
Disney will pay the cable providers to run this VOD advertising for their parks, and will be able to measure who’s watching what, how they’re interacting with it and how long they’re watching it… so beware, Mickey’s watching.
